The Sustainable Wedding Alliance’s mission is to drive change to create a more sustainable wedding industry.
Raising awareness and tackling climate change and attitudes, by proactively encouraging businesses to develop future thinking strategies and make responsible decisions.
They strongly believe that we are trustees of this planet and it’s our duty to not only make sure it survives but thrives, respecting not only the planet in our care but all those that live on it.
They support businesses of all sizes in the wedding industry and treat their social and environmental impact as a primary measure of success, and prioritise it even in cases where it may not drive profitability.
The challenge
Michelle at The Sustainable Wedding Alliance initially came across EcoSend after listening to an episode of The EcoSend Podcast featuring Russ Avery.
With over 20 years industry experience, Michelle helps wedding professionals to put Sustainability at the heart of their businesses.
Michelle was therefore intrigued to learn more about EcoSend, and to explore switching from her previous provider, MailerLite.
Results
The team at Sustainable Wedding Alliance started with a free trial of EcoSend to explore the features.
Michelle and her team were particularly interested to see how EcoSend could re-create their wedding industry newsletter, the Eco Edit and Monthly Member Newsletters, as well as save templates for their campaigns.
Having successfully trialled EcoSend’s no-code email builder to send out test campaigns, the team at Sustainable Wedding Alliance proceeded with their migration.
After exporting their data from Mailerlite into a CSV file, Michelle and her team used EcoSend’s Import Contacts function to bring all their profiles and associated custom data into the EcoSend Contacts area.
Within EcoSend Contacts, users are segmented according to their custom Status in order to define which newsletters they should receive.
Since sending their first campaigns, Sustainable Wedding Alliance have maintained an impressive 8.26% average click through rate; tracked using their Insights dashboard.
In the future, the team plan to explore using EcoSend to set-up Automated Messages linked to their membership platform, in order to help onboard and engage with new members.
